Home Where JFK Alleged Assassinator Lee Harvey Oswald Stayed For Sale

The boarding home that Lee Harvey Oswald, John F. Kennedy alleged assassin, rented a room in has gone up for sale in Dallas, Texas, according to reports.

Oswald rented the home for six weeks on Oct. 14, 1963, said Patricia Hall, the current owner of the home, according to the Associated Press. Oswald rented it from Hall's grandmother, Gladys Johnson. He stayed at the red brick house with white trim during the week while working his new job at the Texas School Book Depository, and on the weekends he returned to the suburb of Irving where his wife, Marina Oswald, lived.

"I understand the significance of the history of this house," said Hall, 61. "It doesn't matter if you believe in a conspiracy or the lone gunman. The fact is that Lee Harvey Oswald lived here."

"My grandmother was very embarrassed and humiliated that her home would be associated with someone that would do something like that. She began getting death threats. She received a lot of hate mail," Hall added.

According to the report, Oswald briefly returned to the house on Nov. 22, 1963, about 30 minutes after Kennedy was fatally shot in downtown Dallas. A housekeeper said she said Oswald run inside the home and grabbed a jacket before running out. Soon after, Oswald fatally shot Officer J.D. Tippit, then was arrested at the Texas Theatre.

But Oswald's case never came to court because he was himself shot dead by Jack Ruby two days later as he was being transferred to a secure prison.

His wife, Marina Oswald, now 71 and still living in Dallas, has always maintained her late husband's innocence in the assassination. A TV-movie, called "Killing Kennedy", is currently in production whichwill tell the story of Kennedy's alleged assassin, Oswald, and his young Russian wife, Marina.
