‘The Good Wife’ Season 7 Episode 2 Recap: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is Alicia’s New Investigator

Alicia picked up a case in bond court of a guy who freely admitted that he vandalized a piece of art in an exhibit and said he'll do it again. The art was a picture of him, naked, when he was 8 taken by his photographer mother.

Actually, Lucca passed the bail document to Alicia and so when the client decided to fight against his mother, Alicia finds Lucca at her door asking 50 percent of earnings from that case. This kind of bring Lucca and Alicia's friendship to another level. There were back and forth arguments about parental consent, what art is versus child pornography, up to modelling charges. Ultimately, the client and his mother went into a settlement.

As part of the case, Alicia needed to hire an investigator. She initially went into hiring an over-confident but apparently incompetent Amanda, over an impressive Jason Crouse (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Eventually, Alicia fired her and negotiated with Crouse. Alicia said $85 and that's it. Crouse then went to Diane, who's hiring him for exclusive service, and told her he's being offered $200 per hour. Diane's counter-offer is $250. But Crouse might be up for something. He went back to Alicia and accepted her offer of $95 per hour.

Meanwhile, Eli scored against Ruth in this episode when he openly manipulated Alicia into convincing Peter that she won't accept any chief of staff but Eli. Eli trolled Ruth by asking if she has seen the horror film "It Follows." Nora also spilled to Eli that she's supposed to report to Ruth everything he's doing. It turned to Peter telling Ruth to call Eli and commend him for a job well done now that Alicia got a spot in the Cook County election board (yes the same one that got Alicia into election-related trouble). Eli is surely up for something here when he convinced Alicia to apologize now and in four months' time, they'll be coming to her.
