Kate Middleton and Prince Williams Ban Flying Drones Over Their Home

Kate Middleton and Prince William enforce a no-fly zone over their Anmer Hall mansion to protect their family's privacy from the press who wants to get a glimpse of them and their kids, Ok! Magazine reported.

A Civil Aviation decree made on Sept. 29, 2015 will take effect on Nov. 1, 2015, which was signed and confirmed on Friday by the Secretary of State declaring a no-fly zone in their area “in the view of the need for security.”

The document stated, “The Secretary Of State has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in the vicinity of Anmer Hall, Norfolk, having regard to the security considerations associated with this location by reason of it being the residence of members of the Royal Family...No aircraft is to fly below 2,000 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 1.5 nautical miles.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been staying at the house located on the Sandringham Estate which was a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth II, after the birth of Princess Charlotte in May. The family spends more time in the home instead of their 21-room apartment in central London at Kensington Palace.

Because of the couple's popularity, the press and paparazzi followed them in their home with cameras to take photos, Yahoo Parenting reported. It was also reported that Prince George is the primary target of the drones.

Back in August, the Duke and Duchess released a statement that they would impart legal action to unauthorized publication of the family's photos saying that "they feel strongly that both Prince George and Princess Charlotte should not grow up exclusively behind palace gates and in walled gardens. They want both children to be free to play in public and semi-public spaces with other children without being photographed.”

Exception to the rule are aircrafts by the National Police Air Service, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the Queen’s Helicopter Flight, any operated by a member of the Royal Family or by somebody who has been invited to Anmer Hall by Prince William or Kate Middleton, and those flying with the permission of the Norfolk and Suffolk Constabulary Royalty and VIP Protection Unit, the decree stated.

A similar restriction is also applied for the Queen's home in Sandringham House, which covers for a year including Christmas period, Hello Magazine reported
