The boxing match between the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the first and only eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao last May might have ended after the proclamation of the winner, but its controversies and what if's did not end even after the last bell. And just recently, a report by yahoosports indicated that there might be a rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
The report made by yahoo is seemed to be backed up by another article of espn stating that Pacquiao is still hungry for a fight, and perhaps the said fight would be his last one before he starts to thoroughly focus on his political career, especially that will be running for senator in the upcoming Philippine national election.
The reports about the so called rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao came to be after yahoo reported that "Pacquiao himself told Agence France Presse during a trip to Doha that he was in talks for either a rematch with Mayweather or a bout with Amir Khan." Though Pacquiao in his statement with the press did not directly mentione Mayweather in his next match in the Middle East, the report written still says so. "I will fight anybody, anywhere. I am going to fight probably before the election. The election is coming next year, May, and before that I will probably have one fight," said Pacquiao.
However, the surfacing news about Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Rematch fight has brought a bit of a shock to Pacquiao's long time promoter Bob Arum, who regarded Mayweather as retired and therefore no chance for a rematch soon. Bob Arum stated via yahoo that;
"I have no idea what he's talking about. He said it, not me. But I have had no talks with anyone about that. None. Zero. Not one. Mayweather is retired and I take him at his word. But second, you know there is no way that Mayweather is ever going to fight in the Gulf, even if he did decide to fight again, so it's all [expletive]."
