Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's relationship was reportedly strained even before the nanny scandal. What's more surprising is new reports claim that Affleck's best friend, Matt Damon, was reportedly not happy with the rumors that Ben is getting back together with his former wife. "The Martian" actor apparently believes that his friend would be happier with other women.
Since Ben and Jennifer called it quits, all the sympathy went to Garner. However, Matt thinks that she should be accountable too for their failed marriage, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports. Although it appeared that the 43-year-old actress was cheated on by her ex-husband, she reportedly isn't as innocent as the public thinks.
"Matt believes Ben's marriage was in shambles way before the nanny," the insider told Ok! Magazine. "There was too much anger there."
The insider went to add that Matt "wasn't pushing for Ben to end it, but he knows Ben will be happier with another woman." The gossip site also claimed that if she had been a little bit "loose" with him, things could have been different for them.
Meanwhile, Ben and Jennifer were seen looking downcast when they were spotted in Los Angeles on Thursday. It is said that they appeared to have been stressed as they run errands. The latest sightings of the ex-couple was amidst the news that they are selling their three-acre Pacific Palisades estate for $45 million, Daily Mail reports. Ben and Jennifer reportedly didn't wear their wedding bands that day.
Ben and Jennifer separated on June 30 this year. As soon as they announced their divorce, they have been plagued with rumors that she has been cheated on by her former husband with their former nanny, Christine Ouzounian. As of late, the "Batman" star reportedly left the nanny and is concentrating on getting back with Jen.
Ben and Jen share three children: Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3. The reports on Matt's comments have yet to be confirmed by the actor or his rep.
