Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Final OTA Update for Samsung Galaxy S2 could be this Month!

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop final over-the-air (OTA) upgrade will be rolled out to Samsung Galaxy S2 handsets. It will arrive this year with security patches and performance enhancements.

Samsung Galaxy S2 devices, both under the mobile carriers and unlocked version, are expected to get the final OTA report on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade in December or October. While it may appear unlikely for a few that a device run presently Jelly Bean will receive the upgrade, a lot of analysts are convinced of the likelihood as a few Samsung mid-range and older devices have been getting Lollipop's official software edition by a string of upgrades in September, iUSB Preface reported.

Samsung mid-range and older tablets and smartphones that have gotten the upgrade include Galaxy J1, Galaxy Mega 2, Galaxy Core Prime, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, Galaxy Note 3,  and Galaxy Grand Primes.

In the middle of this Android 6.0 Marshmallow mania,  a number of Samsung smartphone users are becoming hopeful that there is a chance for them to have a glimpse on the official Lollipop upgrade. While there has been no solid proof or even a final statement coming from Samsung as well as their partner carriers, the official Lollipop version will now be showcased in Galaxy S3.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow fans are already calling Samsung and carriers to launch the upgrade. Mobile carriers, Bell, Sprint, Vodafone, T-Mobile, US Cellular, AT&T and Verizon Wireless have not given any news about the said upgrade.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop over-the-air (OTA) upgrade will appear in the device when it is attached to Wi-Fi. When prompted for this upgrade, click the "Install Now" then follow the onscreen instructions. In order to manually make sure of it, go to Settings > About phone/device > Software updates > Check for upgrades, Steelers Lounge reported. Before going for the installation, charge up the device for at least 50%, although storage must have adequate space to completely accommodate the file size.
