'Persona 5' Updates: Atlus Reveals 5 Personas in the Upcoming Game

"Persona 5," one of 2015's most anticipated games, had its release date pushed back. Despite the delay Atlus reveals a description of the main characters and most of them are said to be based on famous thieves.

According to Design & Trend, it had been found out that with the translation of the Japanese "Persona 5" website by Gematsu, the description of the main character's personas from Atlus are aligned with those reported in an article last month except that the game's cat-like fighter named Morgana. The protagonist and his friend Ryuji Sakamoto meet Morgana in "a palace of a different world." Then she lives and sleeps together with the main character. She tends to swear. Her said catchphrase is, "don't call me a cat."

According to Atlus, Arsene is the protagonist. His face is like a mask and he has giant wings. People sees him as the thief named Arsene Lupin. That character reported was created in 1905 by the French writer named Maurice Leblanc. Many speculate that they are related, however, this persona's true nature is still mysterious.

Next is Captain Kidd who is the persona of Ryuji Sakamoto. He features a skull head and a canon-resembling arm. He is named after a famous pirate and he rides a giant, black pirate ship. The next persona is Carmen who fights together with "Persona 5's" main female character, Ann Takamaki. She wears a red dress and displays a commanding attitude with a group of heart-faced men on the vines in her hands. She is reportedly based to the 19th century opera of the same name.

Next is Morgana's persona named Zorro, a masked swordsman and a gentleman with a letter Z on his belt. Clearly the idea behind this persona is based on Johnston McCulley's classic thief who debuted in 1919. Finally, Goemon who is the eye-catching persona of Yusuke KitagawaHe is characterized by a refined pose, haughty pipe and kabuki-style face. He is based on the Japanese thief Ishikawa Goemon. He is being compared to Robin Hood.

The personas are drawn to the personalities of their owners. "Persona 5" won't be released this year as previously reported. It is scheduled to be released sometime next year in North America and Japan for PS3 and PS4.
