Former Cubs slinger Kerry Wood recently purchased a six bedroom, 11,000-square-foot mansion in the North Shore suburb of Winnetka. The retired Cubs pitcher paid $4.225 million for the property.

According to Curbed, the house is still basically brand new as it was only built last year. The house features coffered ceilings, custom millwork, a media room, wine cellar, a walnut-paneled office space, and an indoor basketball court. While Wood still hasn't found a buyer for his Lincoln Park house, which is currently listed for $3.25, he has decided to move on to the much bigger Winnetka mansion.

It was reported that retired Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood has bought a mansion in Winnetka for $4.2 million.

Daily North Shore said Wood has pitched with the Cubs for 12 seasons, where he memorably tried a major league record when he struck out 20 in a game in 1998 against the Houston Astros. Wood also pitched for the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians before he retired in 2012 from Chicago Cubs.

The 11,000-square-foot mansion that Wood had purchased in Winnetka is a French Revival-style house that has five fire places, 8 and a half baths, a golf room, 18-foot ceilings, and wine cellar among other amenities.

It was also reported that Wood is trying to sell his three-story Lincoln Park mansion which he listed the property on the market for $3.6 million.

According to Sports Mockery, the Lincoln Park mansion of the former Chicago Cubs' ace, Kerry Wood is listed on the market for $3.595 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Built in 2005 by luxury home builder BGD&C, the mansion is fully furnished with all top quality amenities and features a limestone exterior that is complimented with a rooftop deck space on the top of the garage in the back and a large patio. Having paid $3.325 million for the three-story mansion back in 2008, the Woods are hoping to make a little profit.
