The season 11 premiere of "Bones" had fans worried about the fate of Agent Booth, as a body was found with his gun. They breathed a sigh of relief when it was revealed that the body wasn't his but his brother Jared's. The episode ended with the shocking discovery that Booth could either be helping his brother with his mysterious dealings, or he could be an accessory to his murder.
On Thursday, Oct. 8, the show will return with its second episode entitled "The Brother in the Basement" and will deal with the continuing search for Agent Booth. According to Spoiler TV, the Jeffersonian will discover that agent Grace Miller (Kim Raver) has been hiding important information from the team. This will result in a rift between Miller and Dr. Brennan. The team will also have a surprise visitor in Dr. Benjamin Metzger (guest star Josh Casaubon), an FBI digital forensic psychologist, who will help them in their where-is-Booth investigation.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor David Boreanaz said that the death of Booth's brother will definitely affect his character.
"Booth's relationship with his brother was one where he couldn't help him while he was alive, and he couldn't help him when he was dead. He feels like he can't help his brother, he never could help his brother," he said.
The surprising discovery that Booth has been keeping his brother's secret from Brennan will also affect their marriage, but it's nothing the duo cannot resolve. "There's an understanding at the end of the [next] episode where she [Brennan] gets why they need to go back to their jobs, so to speak. So there's a reason for it," the actor told TV Line.
Boreanaz also said that Booth has more secrets to reveal. When asked if he could give spoilers for the second episode, he said, "The second half is much more intense in terms of trying to find out why he's in that predicament. There is a great end to that episode that reflects the connection between him [Jared] and Bones."
Will Brennan finally reunite with Booth? "Bones" episode two airs tomorrow, 8 p.m. on Fox.
