'Just Cause' 3: Map Considered to Be One of the Biggest Ever in the History of Gaming

Avalanche Studios, the developer of upcoming world action-adventure video game "Just Cause 3," recently revealed that the game's map will cover a very broad area.

According to an IGN, "Just Cause 3" will have a map that will span over 400 square miles in size. The game is reportedly set in the fictional place called Medici, an island that is supposedly located in the Mediterranean. Moreover, even if Medici is a fictional location it is based on the surrounding Mediterranean locations with oceans surrounding an island and mountains and cliffs.

Moreover, according to Christian Post the developer's Dev Diary video has reportedly demonstrated how wide the game's map will be. The game's open world is said to cover three major regions. The team members, including the game director and one of its art directors, have discussed about what each region will contain.

According to IGN, game director Roland Lesterlin has said, "I think we still have one of the biggest maps ever. The island will be comprised of 3 major regions. Region 1 is described as a 'medley of wealthy and poor towns' with agricultural areas. Region 2 is dotted with military bases and 'very poor fishing towns.'"

On the other hand, Region 3 is reported to comprise of heavily forested mountainous regions and director Zach Schlappi describes it as, "It's sort of our Game of Thrones."

"Just Cause 3" is the third installment in the "Just Cause" series as a sequel to the 2010 release "Just Cause 2" and it features protagonist Rico Rodriguez as he attempts to keep his homeland Medici from being ruled by a military dictator. The game will be released on Dec. 1, 2015 for PC and current generation consoles.
