Celine Dion Wows Fans In Vegas Show: Dedicates It To Dying Husband Rene Angelil

Celine Dion is back on her feet again in giving the best performances from the stage of Colosseum at Caesars Palace. According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Celine returned on stage again to wow her fans. But this time her show was more meaningful because it was dedicated to her dying husband Rene Angelil.

Earlier last month Celebrity Dirty Laundry reported that on Celine's show at Vegas she revealed to the crowd that her husband Rene is just given a few weeks to live. It has been known that Rene has been battling for so long with lung cancer and now his battle comes to a closer end.

Dion said that she only agreed to perform again on stage and do what she loves because her husband insisted on it. Rene was able to convince Dion to go back to work and she just started a 40-show run. Celine and Rene have been together for almost 35 years now.

Radar Online reported that in August 2014, Celine cancelled all her shows so that she can take care of Angelil and their family that includes son, Rene-Charles and twins Eddy and Nelson. Even though Angelil is already very weak he still urged Celine to go back on stage and even followed her in their Nevada home. This is where he will be spending his last days as he receives love and care from his family.

According to CDL, a source close to Celine told the Enquirer that when the children see their father's condition "it scares them." The source said that, "Rene can now barely sit up and says she feeds her husband through a tube because he can no longer swallow as a result of the extensive throat surgery. He also has lost the ability to speak but can still communicate in other ways."

CDL also shared that in her recent Vegas show Celine talked to the audience of her decision on going back on stage even though she feels hesitant about it. She shared, "My three children and my wonderful husband wanted me to be here because I'm not quite sure if I was ready to be here."

Rene was supposed to be there to watch her perform, however, his medical team did not allow him since he is already too weak. Instead he is watching the special show via a live feed. In that way he was still able to hear Celine's message to the fans and lets them know that he is there as she say, "He's passing along his strength to me. We have talked about things. I'm being heard many times, through my interviews, through my songs. It's time for him to be heard. This is his time and it's going to be the way he wants it to be."

One of the highlights of Celine's show was the time when she sang "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and images of her private family were shown to the audience. Celine's strength is indeed immeasurable as she told her audience, "I want to show my (three) children that sickness is part of life, and I have their backs. We got this. We're doing this. It's OK. And you cannot be crying and depressed and constantly talk about, 'Oh my God,' you know?" That was indeed a heartbreaking scene.
