Is WWE in the middle of some sort of uprising from its Divas? Undoubtedly, the genuine group known as "The Four Horsewomen" consisting Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bayley have some serious skills which help WWE trigger some interest from women audience.
Unfortunately, according to Destructoid, these four are missing from the list of over 120 wrestlers licensed in WWE 2K16. The fans of the game could not help but be curious why such a long list would not include the four, one of which is the current reigning Divas champion, when it even includes some names of long-forgotten wrestlers.
According to Destructoid, the reasons behind are not pleasing to the fans but Game Developer Visual Concepts took the initiative to explain in the 2K forums. In the forums, Visual Concept has mentioned about the scanning process:
"When we travel to do scanning sessions we scan everyone that we can get into our scan booth. WWE Superstars and Divas are very busy so we take every opportunity to scan them regardless of whether or not we are using the scans for the upcoming game. We want to have as many scanned as possible because the scan is the starting point for us adding someone to the game.
It is true that it only takes around 5-10 minutes to scan the [Superstars] and Divas but that is step one in a long process. After they are scanned it takes our team about two months to complete modeling work from start to finish. The kicker is that the model is only part of the work required to add a [Superstar] or Diva into the game. Entrances, moves, taunts, attire, entrance attire, music and roster images all need to get developed. In addition, we need to record commentary for each [Superstar] and Diva which is a large undertaking all on its own. So, as you can see, scanning a [Superstar] or Diva is the least amount of work involved in getting someone into the game."
At least now it is clear that it is tedious to add a diva to the game. When the developer was asked particularly about "The Four Horsewomen," the response was, "We're not talking DLC yet beyond the announcement. However, today's story only ruled out the Horsewomen. Take that as you will."
"None of them will be in the game."
It may be disappointing that fans won't be seeing any of "The Four Horsewomen" in WWE 2K16, but at least the reason has been delivered straight from the horse's mouth.
