‘Criminal Minds’ Cast Member Paget Brewster Talks About Her Exit from the Hit TV Series

"Criminal Minds" star Paget Brewster aka "Emily Prentiss" has left the hit crime drama and has spoken out on what really happened that led to her departure from the show.

It has been a few years since BAU agent "Emily Prentiss" left the hit series "Criminal Minds" and now Brewster, the actress playing "Prentiss" on the show, has spoken about the incidents that led to her departure from long running crime drama that has made her face a familiar favorite for the legions of fans of "Criminal Minds." According to Cinema Blend, it was not just Brewster who CBS wanted to get rid of in the show. AJ Cook was also affected by this move and both of them were given reduced roles which totally irked the actress Brewster.

She said, "So now A.J.'s gone, I'm training Rachel Nichols to replace me and A.J., I died, and then I shot a pilot that didn't go... and then it was announced that I was returning to Criminal Minds! And I called my agents, and I said, 'I'm not! What do they mean I'm returning to Criminal Minds?' And they said, 'Well, they added another year to your contract for you to get those 17 episodes.' And I couldn't understand that. So I was forced to go back or... terrifying things were inferred. And I was kind of pissed, but then I went back and thought, 'I love everyone there!' I hated CBS. [What they did] was just scummy."

In a report by AV Club, Brewster reportedly had her start on a bunch of sitcoms like "Love and Money" and "Andy Richter Controls the Universe." She was also casted in drama "Huff" and finally she landed the role of "Emily Prentiss" in "Criminal Minds." Brewster has moved on to comedy shows like "Another Period" and the soon to be released "Grandfathered" from Fox.
