‘Boruto: Naruto The Movie’ Release Date, Trailer & Rumors: US Showing Delayed; Naruto Live Action Underway?

The U.S. release of "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" has been moved three days later from the original schedule of Oct. 7.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will hit theaters on Oct. 10, according to Design & Trend as first announced by Viz Media. The distribution network for the "Naruto" movie is working with Eleven Arts to bring the film to the U.S. It will be shown in the following states: California, New York, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Arizona, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will tell the story of Naruto's son, Boruto, also known as Bolt. Bolt resented Naruto for not being the father he needs because Naruto was busy being a hero. Bolt promised to be a better ninja and defeat his father.

The reason behind the delay was not given, but rumor has it that it is because the creator Masashi Kishimoto is busy with another "Naruto" project - a live adaptation of the anime. The live action is not confirmed yet. Instead, Movie News Guide reported that Kishimoto has actually confirmed that he is working on a sci-fi "Naruto" series and he has finalized the character designs. Based on Anime News Network report, Kishimoto said in an interview with Entermix, "I think the protagonist is one that hasn't been seen before in manga, and while it's me saying it, I think that the character is done very well."

Kishimoto said the sci-fi project is still on its early stages of development though and is not 100 percent confirmed yet. Kishimoto told Entermix, "I want to think once more about the difference between what I want to write and what readers are looking for when reading my works. I started thinking about this by writing Naruto and various one-shots. Naruto became an unexpected hit, but I want to make my next work a hit as well by actually aiming to do so."

He added, "I don't know when I'll announce my new work, but please wait for my challenge of a work that will surpass Naruto."

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" tickets are now available online. Watch the trailer below.
