'Star Ship Trooper' Star Casper Van Dien Files Divorce from Catherine Oxenberg

Casper Van Dien and Catherine Oxenberg are set to divorce after 16 years in marriage.

The "Starship Troopers" star Van Dien has filed for divorce on Los Angeles Superior Court, from his wife ‘80s soap star Catherine Oxenberg, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason of the separation, as stated in divorce documents filed this week, TMZ reported.

In the divorce papers, Van Dien requested for joint custody of their two daughters, Maya, 14, and Celeste, 11. Both kids already have acting credits of their own now same as their parents.

Aside from Maya and Celeste, the actor, also has a son and daughter from his previous marriage while Oxenberg also has another child, whose father she never identified.

The 46-year-old actor reportedly refuses to pay spousal support to the 54-year-old Oxenberg, who starred on the ABC 1980s series “Dynasty” playing the role of Amanda Carrington, the daughter of Joan Collins’ character Alexis. He is also not asking for any spousal support from Oxenberg after the divorce process is complete, Inquisitr reported.

The couple were reality stars of "I Married a Princess." They originally met on the filming of 1999 TV movie "The Collectors," the same year where they filmed "The Omega Code" together. The two had a short courtship and got married on the same year they met. Their marriage took place in Las Vegas on May 8, 1999.

Oxenberg was born in New York and was raised in London. She became famous from playing Princess Diana in a 1982 movie. Princess Diana and Oxenberg had connections since she was a family friend.

Oxenberg is the daughter of Princess Elizabeth of former Yugoslavia, who is a second cousin of Prince Charles but once removed of her title. The actress is said to be the 1375th in the line of succession to the throne of the United Kingdom.
