Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones Renting Out Bermuda Property

The Oscar winning celebrity couple, William Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, is offering its Bermuda island home for rent for a cool $28,000.

According to E Online, Douglas and Jones had purchased the home back in 2001 for around $2.5 million. The couple made the home their primary residence from 2002 - 09. In 2009, the couple moved to their New York residence where Douglas was treated for stage 4 throat cancer. Douglas in now completely cured of the disease.

Located in the Warwick Parish of Bermuda, the home is popularly known as the Longford house. Spread across an area of 7381 square feet, it has three bedrooms and three full and one half bathroom.  The home sits on 3 acres of lush green land. The Real Estalker calls the home a "classic Bermudian villa" with rustic dark wood beamed ceilings, wooden floors, red walls and chocolate-brown cabinetry.

The double story home offers absolute luxury living. On the lower level the residence has a living room, a formal dining room, a children's wing, two bedrooms and baths. A modern fitness room, a sauna with separate shower space and climate controlled closets complete the lower floor.

The master suite takes up the entire upper level with an attached luxury bathroom. The bedroom opens up to an open porch-like balcony that offers scenic views of the harbor.

Outside, the home has an infinity swimming pool, a lighted tennis courts and a separate guest house as well.

Douglas and Jones own properties in New York, Los Angeles, Colorado and Majorca. They also have a home in Jones' hometown Wales and a water-front property in the British islands of Turks and Caicos.

Douglas traces his roots from Bermuda. His mother is a Bermudian. According to BerNews, Douglas recently wrote the foreword for a photographic book - "Bermuda", the sales proceeds of which will go toward various charities of the island.

"I remember summers in Bermuda as a child and the feeling of peacefulness that the natural environment of the island provides - the island air and the beautiful light; the pink beaches; the crystal clear blue-green water; the tropical flora. There is also a special feeling of connectedness that comes with being on the island that was my mother's childhood home and our family's home for the past 400 years," Douglas wrote in the foreword.
