'Bioshock' Delisted From The App Store For Unknown Reasons, Will Be Fixed for iOs9 (UPDATE)

Fans were ecstatic when 2k games launched a port of the original "Bioshock" for iOS last year. However, that excitement didn't last too long as 2k games appears to have pulled the game out from the App store which means that there is no way of getting it back if you have deleted it, engadget.com reports.

According to the company, the decision was based on compatibility issues of "Bioshock" app with versions of iOS 8.4 or higher and that the glitch is bad enough that users couldn't play the game on the device. Has the developer given up completely with a service rep telling a fan to a forum post on Touch Arcade that the removal was a "developer decision"?

But there's a new twist to this saga, as 2K is reportedly fixing the "Bioshock" game to put it back on the App Store according to a toucharcade.com report. According to a 2k representative:

"2K recently provided inaccurate information to customers surrounding removal of BioShock for iOS from the App Store. BioShock is currently incompatible with iOS versions 8.4 and higher, and as such, is temporarily removed for purchase from the App Store. 2K is fixing the compatibility issue, and when resolved, will place BioShock back on the App Store for purchase. Customers who already own BioShock may continue playing the game with iOS version 8.3 or earlier. 2K regrets the initial customer service error and looks forward to delivering an updated version of 'BioShock' for iOS in the near future."

How 2K is dealing with the current situation with "Bioshock" is almost similar to how "The World Ends With You" was dealt with - the game stops working, there is delayed reaction from the publisher, different messages from customer service causes confusion whether a fix is on the way, before a public outcry seemingly leads to the game finally getting fixed.

Touch Arcade believes that companies releasing premium games should take this as a lesson that updating games come at a high cost.
