Emmys 2015 Red Carpet Fashion: The Best and Worst Dressed of the Night

The Emmys may be the biggest celebration of television's best moments, but its red carpet is also known as the biggest gathering of today's hottest TV stars--all dressed to impress. While it has been a big night for Jon Hamm and Viola Davis--who won best lead actor/actress in a drama series--fashion experts have also given out their own awards: the best and worst dressed of the night.

Last night's Emmys saw a lot of looks ranging from sparkly to sexy and even girly sweet. In Style highlighted some of the best pink gowns of the night. Gina Rodriguez of "Jane the Virgin" arrived in a pale pink, Lorena Sarbu beaded dress with a sweetheart neckline. "Scream Queens" star Emma Roberts and Joanne Froggatt of "Downtown Abbey" both chose flowy, light pink gowns, perfect for last night's 100 degree weather. "Mad Men" actresses Elisabeth Moss and Jessica Pare rocked a darker shade of pink, both wearing Oscar de la Renta.

But it was Maisie Williams who stood out in pink sweetness, a stark contrast from her "Game of Thrones" boyish character. She came in a quilted mid-length dress which she paired with white fluffy sandals and a cute, quirky penguin handbag.

There were some who brought on the bling with their sparkly garbs. E! Online weighed in on some of the stars who shone brighter than a diamond last night. "Scandal" star Kerry Washington went avant-garde in a metallic Marc Jacobs piece. Jaime Alexander was a showstopper in her Armani Prive rainbow gown. Sofia Vergara came in a sparkly, strapless silver gown, which E! noted as being predictable, but "stunning" nonetheless. Sarah Paulson rocked the off-shoulder trend in a sparkly blue and black number. Claire Danes wowed in a backless, sequined Prada with added chains as straps. E! called it fashion's "next big thing."

Plain doesn't mean boring. Included in Harpers Bazaar's best dressed list were some celebrities who went with understated perfection. January Jones simply wowed in a sleek, green jumpsuit with her hair slightly undone. Sarah Hyland proved that she's all grown up with a maroon ensemble, thanks to designer Zac Posen. Harpers Bazaar named "Orange is the New Black" star Laverne Cox as "body of the night" with her figure-hugging custom Calvin Klein. The biggest surprise of the night was Lady Gaga, who went the simple-but-sophisticated route with her plain black dress, sans the big hair and outrageous makeup.

Voted worst dressed of the night was, surprisingly, supermodel Heidi Klum. Her yellow Versace gown had too many things going for it, and raised too many eyebrows on the red carpet. ET called it "confusing," while OK! said it "looked like a destroyed 'Project Runway' piece." The 42-year-old model-turned-host seemed to shrug off the critics, however, and even flaunted her look on Instagram.

Thank you @versace_official and @lorraineschwartz for all of the glitz and glamour!! #Emmys
