The creators of the famous World of Warcraft have been teasing fans about what to expect with the next expansion. In this year, Blizzard has released two updates that are said to improve game experience and add more features. But fans are actually growing impatient for World of Warcraft: Legion which reportedly has been in planning for years now. According to Game Reactor, during the Gamescon 2015 back in August, Blizzard finally made a big announcement about Legion.
In an interview done by Game Reactor with Game Director Tom Chilton and Lead Game Designer Ion Hazzikostas, it was revealed that Blizzard has been planning World of Warcraft: Legion for three years. Chilton said, "We go through multiple expansions at a time and there was a point in which we were trying to decide the order of which should come first, Warlords of Draenor versus Legion ... and we had decided that the right thing story wise was for Warlords to come first and lead into Legion. So we have known what we are going to do on core level since two and half three years ago or so now. It was around 2012 we were talking about that."
Earlier this year, Blizzard released Patch 6.2.0 titled "Fury of Hellfire". The patch brought Tanaan Jungle and the Shipyard and provided players with a host of new gameplay options, according to Master Herald. Then on September 1, the company released Patch 6.2.2 officially titled "Draenor Pathfinder: Prepare for Flying". The patch enabled gamers who already have Draenor Pathfinder achievement the ability to fly in the skies of Draenor. But fans are wondering why Blizzard seems to have missed an update. Where is Patch 6.2.1?
Following Blizzard's announcement in August, fans are hoping that Legion would finally be coming next. According to Master Herald, "World of Warcraft: Legion" has become one of the most awaited strategy games since its announcement. So not only did Jonathan LeCraft, senior game designer, announced that the next expansion would be released sometime in the latter part of next year, he has also revealed some of the additions for not only the existing gamers but also to encourage new gamers to join.
Part of what he has revealed for the next expansion is the level cap that will be raised to 110. He also revealed that a new hero class called Demon Hunter will be added whose characteristics involve spectral sight, metamorphosis, and unrivaled mobility. Moreover, there will also be a new area called The Broke Isles with new dungeons, raids and bosses, and of course, Artifacts, which are customizable weapons that level up in power as players do.
