Kobe Bryant divorce from wife Vanessa Bryant has been called off and Bryant is defending his wife after she's become the topic of ridicule in a rap song by Drake.
Vanessa Bryant filed divorce papers against her NBA star husband Kobe in December of 2011 and now they have been withdrawn, claims TMZ.
No reason was given but the couple has been spotted getting cozy together at public events. They spent New Year's Eve together, were spotted at lunch and have pretty much been inseparable.
Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant's then-potential divorce become a topic of discuss in the song, "Stay Schemin," by Drake in which he said that if Kobe Bryant went through with his divorce, Vanessa shouldn't have been entitled to his fortune.
"Kobe about to lose on hundred and fifty M's, Kobe my n-er hate it to have to be him, b-ch you wans't with me shootin' in the gym."
The basketball superstar's response on Twitter was "No, she wasn't. She was busy raising our kids #nonanny #respectmothers." His defense of his wife made headlines, as did Vanessa'sangry reply regarding Drake's lyrics on her Instagram page.
Meanwhile, Vanessa responded earlier this month to the Drake slam, saying on Instagram that the Canadian rapper "has never been friends with Kobe and know nothing about our relationship."
"I don't need to be in the gym. I'm raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life," she wrote. "I really wish people would stop THINK and then realize that they are being sucked into someone's clear intention to monetize and gain attention off of our family's heartache."
