Famous English director, Joe Wright and his equally famous musician wife, Anoushka Shankar, have sold their residence in the Spitalfields area of East London, U.K. for $4.1 million.
The Real Estalker first broke news about the sale of the Grade II listed Georgian style home. Wright purchased the home in March 2008 for $3.9 million. However, the director has now sold it to Welsh singer and actor, Jonathan Pryce.
The home was built in 1927. It was listed in the market for a short period of time. According to the listing records, the property spreads across 3123 square feet and comprises of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two additional studio spaces are also available. The five-storey home sports spectacular Georgian architecture with three reception rooms.
The ground floor has beautiful original floorboards with oak panels. The entrance opens up to an open dining area with a snug kitchen. The dining room also has a huge stone fireplace. The second floor is done with dark hardwood flooring with a lounge and another fireplace. The floor also contains a family bedroom with a bathroom and a spacious hall. The third floor is home to the master suite with a huge attached bathroom.
One of the studio spaces is located on the ground floor while the other sits on the first floor. All the floors are accessible via exterior stairs in the courtyard.
The Spitalfields area is quite an attraction as it homes some other celebrities like Novelist Jeanette Winterson and entrepreneur Tracy Emin.
Wright and Shankar got married in the fall of 2010. They have a son together.
Wright is famous for his cinematic endeavors like "Pride and Prejudice", "The Soloist" and "The Atonement". His more recent movie was "Anna Karenina" which is based on the novel of the same title by legendary author "Leo Tolstoy".
Anoushka Shankar is also a renowned musician. She is the daughter of the late music legend, Ravi Shankar. Anoushka is a Grammy nominated sitarist. She is the half sister of famous singer/ songwriter, Norah Jones. Both of them jointly collected the Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award on behalf of their late father.
Anoushka is all geared up to launch a new campaign against women abuse on Valentine's Day.
