Beyonce is one of the wealthiest singers in the world today and she sure is generous with her money when it comes to her family. The Grammy-award winning singer is buying a $5.9 million mansion for her mother, Tina Knowles.
According to the Mail Online, Beyonce is splashing out $5.9 million on a "palatial" home for her mother - a six bedroom, 16 bathroom mansion in Houston, Texas.
The 25,000 square-foot mansion has six bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a games room, two Jacuzzis, a private screening room and outdoor pool. A listing on HoustonMansion describes the third floor games room as being equipped with a pool table, gaming tables and a hidden television.
The mansion, located in the prestigious Piney Point village, is reported to have been reduced from an asking price of $20 million just three years ago, reported Daily Mail.
The sale comes months after Tina Knowles, 58, divorced her husband, Beyoncé's father Mathew Knowles, after 31 years of marriage.
Tina and Mathew Knowles, 61, had earlier separated in 2009 after it emerged Mathew - who managed his daughter until last year - had fathered a love child with former Scrubs actress Alexsandra White.
According to the home's listing, the Houston mansion contains a mirrored elevator; granite floors with marble, semi-precious stone and gilded plaster crown molding; frescoes and elaborately carved Corinthian capitals on interior cast stone columns.
TMZ reports Mrs Knowles' home was on the market for nine months with no potential buyers before the 8,885-square-foot home was purchased this summer.
The singer is currently being scrutinized for lip-syncing the national anthem this week at President Obama's inauguration.
