Why Giada De Laurentiis and Todd Thompson Divorce Is Costly

Giada De Laurentiis and Todd Thompson have participated in the so-called "Summer of Splits" and Giada is to be burned for the alleged affair with Bobby Flay. It is sad to hear about the marriages of high-profile personalities going down the drain but it is even nastier if there aren't any prenuptial agreements.

In the meantime, you may now forget about the reason why the chefs have decided to go their separate ways after 11 years of marriage but you may now include Giada De Laurentiis' divorce in the list of expensive celebrity splits.

According to TMZ, which has obtained a copy of the final divorce judgment, Giada is to pay Todd $9,000 per month in child support. Not only that, Todd gets their $3.2 million house in Pacific Palisades and $300,000 in art and furnishings. Needless to say, he also gets to keep his Bel-Air Bay Club membership.

While it may be good to hear that Giada gets to keep her hard-earned brand from rights of an untitled Italian cookbook and her production company, Linguine Pictures, to keeping rights to GDL Foods, Inc., the ugly part is that according to TMZ, Giada must give Todd 50 percent of the unpaid advances to various cookbooks that are in the works, including a $2.5 million balance for "Giada at Home/Weeknights with Giada," $2.3 million for "Giada Feel Good Food," and $757,000 for "Everyday Pasta/Giada's Kitchen."

Moreover, they both get to keep their respective cars while they divide up various bank accounts. On the other hand, no one will be getting spousal support since they are both rich. According to TMZ, Todd's estimate worth is $15 million, while Giada's is $20 million. Lastly, they will share the joint custody of their 7-year-old daughter, Jade Marie.
