Real Estate Listings 2015: 'Flinstone House' Up for Sale for $4.2 Million

Yaba Daba Doo! The Flintstone House in Hillsbourough, California is now up for sale for an estimated $4.2 million.

SF Gate reports that Alain Pinel Realtors recently put the property up in the market. Architect William Nicholson built the house in 1976 as a way to experiment on different new styles, materials, and techniques during that time.

The Flintstone House has been a well-loved place by the Bay Area community and it's been a definite hit with children. Curbed also reports that the property is also known as Barbapapa House "after the circular, shape-shifting creatures featured in a children's book from the 1970s."

The property covers 2,730 square feet, a small space for the price tag. The agents and the owners, however, think that the price is just right for such a landmark. It boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms and it was last sold for $800,000 back in 1996. See the full listing on Zillow.

NBC Bay Area also calls the property the most recognizable home in Hillsborough. They also got an exclusive tour of the iconic house by listing agent Judy Meuschke.

The interiors of the place are just as whimsical as its exterior, especially the kooky kitchen. Neighbors hope that the next owner won't tear the place down, as they want to keep the Flintstone house as the landmark that it is. Meuschke also mentioned that the tear down is not worth the hefty price tag.

The unnamed owner of the Flintstone House is reportedly now ready to move on after living in the home for a good 19 years. It was a good investment indeed if it does sell for the current price!
