'Mortal Kombat X' Update: Ed Boon Teases Pit DLC Classic Stages Will Arrive In PC, PS4, Xbox One

"Mortal Kombat X" creator Ed Boon has teased avid fans and players that the game's "Pit" will be coming to various consoles and mobile devices. The news comes after Boon took to Twitter to tease fans about a photo of a full moon that has an "encore" caption.

Gamers via Reddit community were quick to confirm that the screen grab was actually a selected portion of a full render of the Pit, which was sourced from "Mortal Kombat" last 2011, a report from Design & Trend said on Thursday.

"This tease strongly suggests that the historic fighting arena will make its way into the current entry too. Better yet, it might even arrive as one small part of an 'encore' Kombat Pack with more stages, fatalities and possibly characters to mess around with. The 'Mortal Kombat X' community could certainly use some consolation right about now. Just days ago, its publishers at Warner Bros. Interactive announced that the game's PS3 and Xbox 360 ports had been canceled for good. To add fuel to that fire, the latest patch for its current-gen version was rife with glitches that made Tanya far more powerful than her opponents," the report said.

On Wednesday, IGN confirmed that previous speculations on additional characters for the "Mortal Kombat X" turn out to be true. This is after Ed Boon has teased four new characters via a photo of four silhouettes with the large caption: "Who's Next." Experts from the gaming industry claim that the "teaser photo" is actually an indication that additional characters will be revealed in the coming days.

Previous playable characters included in the roster of "Mortal Kombat X'  Kombat Pack DLC are Tremor, Tanya, the Predator and Jason Vorhees, bringing "Mortal Kombat X" character line-up to 29. There are also non-playable characters like Rain, Bo Rai Cho, Fujin and Baraka that could possibly be mined for DLC, according to Polygon.

More details about "Mortal Kombat X" video game are expected to be revealed before this week ends.
