'The Flash' Season 2 Release Date & Spoilers: Doctor Light To Join The CW Series? Iris West Becomes New Head Of S.T.A.R. Labs

"The Flash" Season 2 will reportedly introduce new character Doctor Light.

In an interview with TV Line, "The Flash" executive producer Gabrielle Stanton confirmed that a female version of Doctor Light will make a cameo in Season 2. However, Stanton failed to provide details as to when exactly will Doctor Light appear on the show and what she will do.

Meanwhile, a Twitter user recently posted photos of what appeared to be Doctor Light's costume. Fans immediately speculated that the black and white costume is what Doctor Light will be wearing on "The Flash."

"#TheFlash shot a scene last night with a new costumed woman. Any clue who it is? Sorry, peeps best shot I got," the Twitter user captioned the photo.

In other news, there are also reports that Iris West (Candice Patton) will be taking over S.T.A.R. Labs in Season 2. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that Iris will step up her game after Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) decides that he no longer wants to head the team.

Towards the end of episode 2, Iris will also be the one responsible for bringing the entire group together.

"Iris slides into the role very naturally. She's a born leader. One of the best things in the premiere is Barry decides that he wants to work alone because he doesn't want to risk anyone else's lives, and Iris is really the one who gets the band back together again. She's the only one who can stand up to Barry," Kreisberg said.

He added that Iris wouldn't succumb to the sadness brought about by the death of Eddie. Instead, she will step up her game and become a better person because of it.

"The Flash" Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
