Unique Homes: A 1950s Home in Morocco Mixes Pattern to Perfection

When it comes to perfection in home designing, the 1950s home in Morocco stands out. This home features exquisite tiling design of optimum perfection. Morocco is known as the land of hot pinks, peaches, terra-cotta and sand as stated in a report by elledecor.com. However, a new blend of home designing captivated Morocco upon the arrival of one particular couple.

According to a previous report by elledecor.com, "Caitlin and Samuel Dowe-Sandes bought a 1950s house in Gueliz, a neighborhood in the heart of modern Marrakech."  The couple painted it in hues of inky blue, clear azure, and cool gray. The couple also animated the house by similar colors in the vividly patterned tiles they produce in their small factory in town.

For instance, the tiling in all of the rooms is different and varied. Samuel made a demi-hexagon tile in four diverse blues and oyster gray that unifies the rooms on the ground floor. It allows the wall colors to riff off the different shades in the pattern as further reported by elledecor.com. In the living room, a robin's-egg blue on the walls are used as decoration. It retains the room's light and airy ambience. The white sofa, spare furniture, and striking wire lights by French designer Constance Guisset gives the room additional charm as well. The dining room is highlighted with a moodier indigo, with a complementary tile highlighting scarab in four different blues.

The couple with their artistic skills and expertise led them to many more adventures and discoveries. Their renovation of a more than 250-year-old home located inside a mosque in the Marrakech Medina inspired the couple to start a handmade cement tile company, 'Popham Design' as stated in a report by designsponge.com.

It appears that the founders of the tile firm 'Popham Design' has more opportunity to indulge their passions for pattern and playful color in this 1950s Morocco home. The mixed array of tiling design and color schemes makes this home a remarkable and unique one.
