When Will 'Wayward Pines' Start Filming For Season 2?

"Wayward Pines" might see the light of day once again as talks for possible "Season 2" between executive producer M. Night Shyamalan and writer Blake crouch about how the next season should tell the story starts. However, Shyamalan already committed himself to another project with Joaquin Phoenix. When will season 2 of "Wayward Pines" start then?

The episode finale for "Wayward Pines" was an intriguing one as Ethan, played by Matt Dillon, ended up dead. The said lead character was one of those who tried to keep the townspeople alive and well in spite of the Abbies' attacks.

However, in spite of the death of the lead character, Ethan's son, Ben, played by Charlie Tahan, was able to survive the said attack. Knowing this, reports indicated that the second season may reflect his own way of keeping the neighborhood safe just like his father did in season one.

Fox recently announced the end of the series on its screens last month, reported Realty Today. Although the series was truly set for only one season, the fact that it garnered 3.9 million viewers on its season finale alone, season two might not be a long shot for executive producer M. Night Shyamalan.

According to Venture Capital Post, author of the novel used as basis for the series, Blake Crouch, is open to the possibility of the second season as he and Shyamalan were discussing how it would turn out.

In other news, Deadline reported that Shyamalan is set to make a project with Joaquin Phoenix once again. The rumored project would start this coming November at the director's hometown in Philadelphia. Furthermore, it would also be produced by Jason Blum.

Knowing that the executive producer of "Wayward Pines," M. Night Shyamalan, have already committed to another project with Joaquin Phoenix and yet, is discussing season 2 with author Blake Crouch, when will "Wayward Pines" season 2 start? Will it happen?
