Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Merchandise Coming This September

The latest addition to the Star Wars movies, Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, is all set to be released in December of this year and according the Hollywood Reporter, J.J. Abrams' sequel will have all of IMAX's large-format screens in North America and most of its foreign screens to itself.  But before the movie could make a really big blast, something as big is about to be unveiled in full "Force" a couple of month's earlier.  According to NYDailyNews, Lucas Films has announced that the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" products will be unveiled during an unprecedented live, digital unboxing event on YouTube starting on Sept. 2.  Furthermore, the toys is said to be rolled out online over the course of 18 hours across 15 cities covering 12 continents.

Moreover, according to the report, the president of Disney Consumer Products, Leslie Ferraro, had said in a statement, "We've seen tremendous excitement for these new products and can't wait to see the global reaction from the Star Wars fan community."

The sale of the highly anticipate toys will then follow the online roll out.  September 4, Friday, which has been dubbed "Force Friday" in honor of the intergalactic action figures and other out-of-this world products, will be the day the merchandise is set to hit store shelves.  The toys are reported to possibly provide clues to new Star Wars characters like Lupita Nyong'o's Maz Mutesi who has not been seen in the trailer.

During the release, the Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy said, "Star Wars toys have always played an important role in how our fans interact with the Saga. These spectacular 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' products will continue that tradition."

The live stream with be on the "Star Wars" YouTube channel. It will begin in Sydney at 5:45 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Sept 2 with the event wrapping up in San Francisco at 11 a.m. EDT on Sept. 3.
