'Married At First Sight' Season 3 News: Is It Renewed or Cancelled?

With FYI and sister network A& E still mum on season 3 of their experimental show "Married At First Sight", speculations of non-renewal is remaining a possibility, vinereport.com has the report.

"Married at First Sight" Season 1 of the show proved to be more successful in terms of marital success rates with two out of three pairs still married after six months compared to season two wherein all three couples ended up divorcing with even one person filing a restraining order against her partner.

"The producers are not choosing the matches. Matches are being chosen by our four experts. This involves very extensive background check, ex-criminal record checks, clinical psychologist Dr. Joseph Sloane collects a lot of data from several different psychological tests. Tests that examine all aspects of someone's personality. These are really, really, all sophisticated assessment. So they are traditionally used by organizations such as the FBI or the CIA. This isn't just a gimmick. This is an experiment that we've proven now works," Sam Dean, the show's executive producer, tells Entertainment Tonight.

In the same report, it was revealed that "Married At First Sight" originated in Denmark with an impressive marriage success rate, but its United Kingdom franchise haven't been as effective with people already backing out of season 2.

According to Master Herald, the show's Australian franchise is having a new season despite only producing one successful marriage in its previous season.

There are already 20,000 applicants who are vying to be part of the "Married at First Sight" US version's third season, says executive producer Chris Coelen. However, the official website for casting calls has been taken down and the show's official Facebook page has no updates pertaining to a third season - signs that it might not see the light of day.

Followers try to get answers about a "Married at First Sight" new season on the page but it only states, "We don't have any updates about a new season just yet, but we'll keep you posted! Catch up on #MarriedAtFirstSight while you wait."
