Feng Shui Bedroom Tips: Design Rules and Simple Ideas in Attracting Good Vibes in Your Room

According to ancient Chinese art of placement popularly known as Feng Shui, following certain rules and principles in home design will help you attract positive energy into your space. Here are some Feng Shui bedroom tips and ideas to keep in mind to help you enjoy a good night's sleep.

Keep Your Bed Away from the Door

According to HGTV, it is important in Feng Shui that the bed has a commanding position, which is as far away as possible from the door. The best place to position the bed is in the corner diagonally opposite from the bedroom door. Such location reportedly promotes better sleep, relaxation and healthy chi.

Get Rid of Clutter

The basic rule in Feng Shui is getting rid of clutter first in your home. Love to Know says that dirt and dust produce stagnant chi, which results in negative things such as diseases, discord in relationships and even loss of wealth.

HGTV also says that clutter under the bed is a big no, as it reportedly has its own energy which can disrupt sleep. It also blocks energy, which results in stagnation of life, according to feng shui experts. It is important therefore that you have different kinds of storage in your room to prevent clutter in your space. Without clutter, the chi will be able to flow freely in your room.

Properly Position Mirrors

Love to Know says that mirrors should not be directly placed across or over a bed, which reflects the bed in the mirror. This reportedly invites a third party and infidelity in a relationship.

Keep Working Desks and Electronics Out of Your Room

According to both aforementioned websites, Feng Shui is against the idea of mixing sleep with work and electronics. This means that working desks should never be placed inside a room as well as entertainment amenities such as TVs, music and movie players, etc. Electronics reportedly contribute electric currents to the room, which disrupt sleep and relaxation.

Incorporate Calming Colors

Feng shui experts go for warm, earth and skin tones when designing a home or space. Peach, cream, terra cotta, light blue, green and lavender are popular choices that promote a peaceful vibe and healing energy in your room. Meanwhile, using pink and red, which are the colors of romance, can reportedly boost romance in your relationships.
