'Persona 5' Release Update: PS3, PS4 Format to Arrive in North America before 2016?

"Persona 5" developer Atlus USA declared that the newest "Persona" installment will come in North America before 2015 ends, as many have been wondering prior to the announcement if the game would be released within the year.

Its developer, Atlus USA, is holding on to its declaration that the game will surely be coming out before the end of the year and in North America, no less.

John Hardin, PR Manager for Atlus USA, denied that the date will be moved to 2016. Hardin revealed in a press release in Europe that the 2016 rumors were "...just completely wrong. A lot of people assume that this is correct because they published something back in what, 2008? It just isn't true."

Hardin said in a statement to God is a Geek, "I'm working on getting those incorrect listings (of Persona 5's European version, supposedly shipping in 2016) removed. We are trying to get publishers locked in for our titles in EU and will announce things when they are locked in."

Earlier, Hardin confirmed the 2015 release, both for the North American and European markets. During that time, Hardin disclosed that their team was still in the finalization stage, particularly with the details of the game. As he explained in an article in Polygon, "We don't want another Shin Megami Tensei IV or Devil Survivor Overclocked situation. We are very aware of what happens when we make premature announcements for Europe. He ended by saying that, "The only thing I can confirm for Persona 5 is 2015."

Fans' excitement were even fired up with the release of the first gameplay trailer during the "Persona Super Live" 2015 held last June. Reviews of the trailer were of the opinion that the preview was slick, stylish, and provided the right balance of entertainment and intrigue.

"Persona 5" is set to be launched for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, but not for PC.
