Nobody is Crashing into Vince Vaughn’s House

The celebrity tag doesn’t always result in successful real estate transactions. With each passing day, the number of celebrities having to settle for less lucrative deals is increasing. The latest to join the list is the "Wedding Crashers" actor Vince Vaughn, who has brought down the asking price of his Chicago penthouse from close to $18.5 million to $16.7 million.

According to the market grapevine he was originally planning to sell the 12,000-square-foot, 19-room triplex penthouse on Michigan Avenue, for $24.7 million.

However, if he manages to sell the property at this asking price ($16.7 million), Vaughn will still be making a profit, as the property was originally bought for $12 million in 2006.

The highlight of the three-floor apartment, Realestalker reported, is that each floor is dedicated to different specified activities. For instance, the lower floor is a family quarters, the entire middle floor is a formal dining area with a with 28-foot long living and dining rooms and eat-in kitchen; and the “uppermost top floor to the pursuit of millionaire-style home-based amusements and diversions, ” the website reported.

The three-floor house has five bedrooms, four full baths and four half baths.

Besides, reports have it that the apartment also has an office that was once occupied by Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, when the corporate office of the publication was in the building.

Vaughn also owns another property in Chicago that is currently used as a rental. The 4063-square feet townhouse was purchased in 2005 for a $1.4 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.

On the work front, Vaughn and his "Wedding Crashers" co-actor Owen Wilson have reunited for the Internship, which tells the story of two middle-aged men who lose their jobs and have to start all over again in the corporate world.
