Ben Stiller Taking Loss, Selling New York home for $9.6 million

Ben Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor, who made a cool profit of nearly $10 million in a property deal, are selling their New York City apartment at a loss.

The 4,000-square feet, five bedroom and five-and-a-half bathroom unit was bought for $10 million in 2008 is being put for sale for $9.6 million. However, market sources speculate that it could be a smart move to drive up the price of the sale. A low asking price could draw more attention and therefore more offers.

The apartment overlooks the Hudson River and has an attractive design in a pre-War full-service building on the corner of Riverside Drive and West 84th Street.

Amenities and features of the room, too, are top class. A spacious living room occupies a major portion of the first floor, which also feature a large eat-in cook’s kitchen. The private quarters are in the lower level of the duplex. This includes a master suite and three other spacious bedrooms. Trulia reported that each level is accessible by an elevator, apart from a stairwell. Another attractive feature of the house is a large media room.

In 2011, Stiller sold his Outpost Estates for $11.5 million to Transporter actor Jason Statham. The Outpost Estates consisted of two lavish homes – one Mediterranean and the other Spanish - located in an acre of land. The estate has 10 bedrooms and 11 baths and outdoor dining and living areas.

The Stillers bought this property near the Hollywood Bowl in 1999 for the price of $1.82million, the Daily Mail reported.
