Helpful Apps for Your Home Design

Decorating, specifically choosing the color, style, and furnishings of a home has never really been that easy. Even if you surround yourself with tons of catalogs and interior decoration magazines, you will still find it a challenge to come up with a design that will effectively reflect your taste and personality. But thanks to modern technology, there are a number of applications available now that can change the way you layout your home's appearance.

1.       Cataluv - Free on iOS. It brings home décor retailers onto a single digital catalog. You can also view pictures inspired by designers, click on the products and buy them all in one spot.

2.       Color 911d - $4.99 on iOS. The app has hundreds of color palettes to choose from, but you can create and customize other palettes too. It will also allow you to upload a photo of a room or item and it will help you identify complementary colors.

3.       Color Capture - Free on iOS and Android. With this app, you can set your favorite colors and add notes to them. It also provides information on paint, colors and the nearest Benjamine Moore outlet.

4.       ColorSmart - Free on iOS and Android. It allows you to upload a photo and the app will create a color scheme based on that image.

5.       Home 3D - $3.99 on iOS. This gives you a visualization of how your home will look, not only what will fit, by virtually moving windows and floors and setting materials on the walls and floors.

6.       Houzz Interior Design Ideas - Free on iOS and Android. It is a collection of colors of almost all types of rooms, product and location. The app includes a directory of architects, designers and contractors.

7.       Like That Décor - Free on iOS and Android. Allows you to upload an image of a piece of furniture after which it will produce links to like products from different stores.  

8.        Mark On Call - $2.99 on iOS. It is for professional designers and customers as well. It is useful both for designing, setting of logistics and aesthetic, and space planning. Fabrics, skin furniture and counter tops can also be customized for a preview of how it will actually look when purchased.

9.        MyPantone - $9.99 iOS, $7.99 Android. The app will allow you to browse more than 13,000 Pantone paint colors, view color combinations, and accent colors. It is compatible with AirPrint and will let you print out a color palette.

10.     Photo Measures - $6.99 on iOS and $4.99 on Android, but both have free Lite versions. You won't need to get room measurements and try to visualize how things will look like when you are in the store. You can also download Photo Measures as this app allows you to put all of the dimensions of walls and flooring, directly on the image of the room.
