House Project Shopping: Home Depot Items That Are Not Worth Your Money

Are you doing a house project or a simple home upgrade soon? Then maybe you are thinking about running to your nearest Home Depot store - and we can't blame you. The lesser we spend, the better; and you can't say that for a fact if you go to an expensive and shipping-required (but far cooler) fancy hardware shop.

While we can bag several good deals at a Home Depot Store, there are some non-negotiable items in that store that are just not worth your money according to About Home:

Large Appliances

Years into trying to get into the large appliance game, few are still biting. One reason is price, but for most part, it's the salesperson knowledge. When it comes to crucial and expensive appliances like refrigerators, a $50 difference from other stores is not worth it if you are looking for someone who can tell you which has better electricity consumption, or which brand has a better warranty policy. You just can't expect that from Home Depot employees.

Luxury Vinyl Plank

If you are looking for premium luxury vinyl plank choices, then you should look somewhere else. If other retailers are pushing LVP, Home Depot just couldn't be bothered with their limited, or should we say, only offering available which is TrafficMaster Allure.

Pond and water feature supplies

Fact is, the water feature building supplies section at a Home Depot is a dusty, forgotten section. Their PVC lines are undersized and the water pumps are incredibly overpriced - and what about those dusty junk which seem like stocks that never move?

Natural stone

When it comes to natural stones that are supposed to be installed in both big and little pieces, a per piece pricing leads people to pick through the pallet and get the largest pieces and cast aside smaller ones. How will you ever find a variation of sizes if that's the case? Home Depot could use some scale.

Cleaning products

Why are cleaning products so expensive at a Home Depot? Whatever the reason is, you should know not to buy your cleaning products from there. Who pays $14 for a 6-roll pack of big paper towels?
