‘The Legend of Zelda' Wii U: Game's Delay Explained in 'The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes'?

Japan-based game developer Nintendo is gearing up to release "The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes" video game on October 23. However, fans are said to be disappointed because they were instead looking forward to "The Legend of Zelda" on Wii U, Master Herald said on Tuesday.

According to the report, based on the company's quarterly financial report, Nintendo has indicated a "To Be Decided" status for "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U. This is contrary to earlier speculations which claimed that the video game will have a 2016 release date.

Master Herald stated that the possible "delay" of "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U is due to Wii U's dwindling sales and popularity. It is said to be the reason why the company decided to come out with "Tri-Force Heroes" for 3DS instead.

It can be recalled that in March, the company has announced that it won't release "The Legend of Zelda" on Wii U within this year. Nintendo's announcement reportedly confirmed the recent speculation that "The Legend of Zelda" video game's release date will be delayed, as expected. Nintendo explained that the company needs more time to complete the development of the video game and eventually make it an "ultimate Zelda game."

Meanwhile, according to a report from Polygon, Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" will be officially launched for Nintendo 3DS on October 23. Nintendo's multiplayer video game will reportedly allow three players to collaborate and work together to solve different puzzles and explore dungeons. The report said that the game can be played locally with other players. Each link can be equipped with various weapons, special outfits and other perks that will provide additional hearts or archery abilities to players.
