‘True Detective’ Finale: An Utter Disaster; Needs To Shake Up Its Formula For Season 3

Here's what people think of the "True Detective" season 2 finale: it is an utter disaster. The showrunner needs to shake up its formula for season 3.

Fans are obviously dismayed of how the "True Detective" season 2 ends. Vox has reported 7 reasons why the TV series was an utter dismay. What the report was telling is that it is not only the conclusion was vague and the finale didn't make sense, but also the way the story has been told. The audience ends ups feeling lost.

So here are the things that factors that have been identified why "True Detective" season 2 is an epic fail. The main flaw of this season is the story itself. There wasn't enough story to tell the audience. The main plot is just too simple to be stretched to the whole season,- "three very different police officers investigating the death of a corrupt city manager." That's the reason why the creator Nic Pizzolatto has kept tossing "fillers," which add complication, thus, the viewers find it hard to comprehend the whole ball game of "True Detective.' In a capsule, the story is too over-complicated and "far too predictable" and everything seemed to happen in a wrong order that you would end up shrugging your shoulder.

Aside from the plot, the main characters of "True Detective" have no connection to the story itself. The story was about the 2 powerless orphans who wanted revenge, and then eventually "end up almost taking down a gigantic criminal conspiracy that runs the state of California." But the main characters-Ray, Frank, Ani, and Paul- have very minimal relevance of the main plot.

As criticisms keep circulating in and scrutinizing the season finale of "True Detective," HBO needs to change the whole ball game. The creator and the showrunners need to shake up a bit for season 3 to pick up the interest of the viewers. Hollywood Reporter says that "a different playbook" is the only way to do the trick. As suggested in its article, finding a different arc would be a good way to start in shaking a new formula. Creator also has to consider simplifying the plot, the previous season was really a disaster of over-complicated story line. And the third point is giving "the bad guys a face." A crooked and fraudulent network of powerful men in season 2 didn't work.

E! Online also expresses its disappointment of how the season finale went done for "True Detective Season 2." The finger has been pointed to the creator of the show. The article says that perhaps Nic Pizzolatto thinks that everyone is so inferior to him. Out of utter dismay, the online mag has collated the complaints that have been expressed on twitter.
