‘Chinese Billionaire’ Purchased A $52 Million Mansion In Sydney

A certain Chinese billionaire acquired a $52 million mansion located outside Sydney, Australia. What makes it even more astonishing is that fact that he never set foot inside the mansion before he made the acquisition.

The Real Deal reports that a Chinese billionaire picks up $52M mansion outside Sydney, Australia for a price of $70 million without actually seeing the property. The name of the new owner of the mansion is Chau Chak Wing. Mr. Wing is the chairman of Kingold Group and also happens to be a property developer. He and his family own a waterfront home in Hunters Hill, Australia. They bought it for $3 million way back in 1995 and have been calling it home for the past 20 years. Chau Chak Wing said that his family has grown over the years by having more children and grandchildren that he decided to move in to a house that he thought was "a little bigger." The Chinese billionaire was quoted saying that he never saw the mansion and that he does not even know who previously owned it.

News Domain says that the mansion was formerly owned by James and Erica Packer who also happens to be a billionaire but of Australian decent. Mr. Wing, a Chinese billionaire picks up $52M mansion outside Sydney without seeing it. Mr. Chau said that his daughter, Winky, was given the responsibility for purchasing the mansion. Ms. WInky is also the one in charge of the Australian New Express Daily newspaper that is published in Chinese language.

The purchased amount of $70 million is said to have set a new record for a residential sale in Australia.
