5 Ways You Can Hide Your TV On A Budget

We all love our televisions! It's one of technology's greatest treasures. However, it's also one those things that could ruin our space's look - that large, ugly, black box.

The good news is, you can actually disguise your television set (and all its wirings) especially if you do not have a dedicated entertainment room so you don't keep running your eyes on that big, black box when it's not in use. About Home suggests these tips:

Make the black box disappear

A cheap way you can hide your tv is not hiding it. Yup, you can do that. By placing that big, black box on an all-black background where it blends, you can make it "disappear" from your view.

Use a curtain

If your tv is located in a recessed area, one way you can hide it without having to cut through anything is by using a curtai. It is an easy way to get rid of the sight quickly, but it's also easy for when you have to use it.

Make the TV look like another picture on the wall

Another way to blend the tv in to a certain focal point is by placing several photos or art around it. By doing so, you can make it look like just another image on the wall. This could work especially for larger rooms.

Close it off with doors

Although this trick might require a little job, it would be a good choice if your tv is already located within a small recessed area. You can use shutter-styled doors that close and open easily similar to bi-fold doors on a closet.

Use a pull-down map

If you are the artsy type, you can opt to use a vintage pull-down map that you can easily draw down when you are not using the television. The spot instantly turns into an art piece or an entertainment piece depending on your mood. You can find a lot of that pull-down maps in vintage stores and flea markets.
