'Gran Turismo 7' Release Date & News: Game to Be Available in 2016, To Feature New Premium Cars & Sound Effects?

Avid fans of the popular racing video game "Gran Turismo" will have to wait a bit longer for the new game. This is after an official of game developer Polyphonic Digital has hinted the possibility of a 2016 launch date for "Gran Turismo 7."

Previous reports pointed out that Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital, previously announced a 2015 release of the video game. However, he apparently later retracted his statement, saying that the game studio needs more time to develop the video game, a report from Master Herald said on Sunday.

As Master Herald noted, Yamauchi claimed that the "Gran Turismo 7" video game will have different special improvements and other big features that will offer players a unique gaming experience that is definitely worth the long wait. The report stressed that the company is painstakingly developing the video game to improve its overall features to regain its reputation. This is because the game's predecessor, the "Gran Turismo 6," earned flak from players due to several technical issues that affected the video game's performance.

Polyphony Digital's "Gran Turismo 7" will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 video game console. The new video game is expected to feature new and old cars, but Yamauchi pointed out that the company will not discard the game's classic cars. He emphasized that some of the cars will be offered as "premium" models.

Aside from this, he revealed that a new set of sound effects will be integrated in the video game's platform. He also assured that the video game's audio quality will be improved significantly, according to the aforementioned website.

Meanwhile, in a related report from Gamespot, Yamauchi answered a question about a 2017 launch date for "Gran Turismo 7." He said, "People will not wait so much... We are talking about 'Gran Turismo,' we must not wait so long," reportedly indicating a 2016 release date will likely happen.
