Rapper 50 Cent Wants His Mansion Leased

American rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, has expressed his desire to lease his mansion located at 30 Poplar Hills Drive, Farmington.

In a report by the Hartford Courant, it was disclosed that the artist thought of this plan so that he would be able to reduce his expenses in maintaining his residence, estimated to be at $67,000 a month. Jackson also needed to generate cash as he declared for personal bankruptcy just last month, after a New York City court ordered the rapper to pay $7 million to a woman who filed charges against him. The rapper is accused of posting the woman's sex video on his website.

In an interview with E!News, Jackson admitted that he filed for bankruptcy to stop the sex tape trial, but the NYC Court judge allowed the proceedings to continue, with the turn out demanding him to pay the woman compensatory damages.

The 50,000-square-foot mansion in Connecticut is situated in a 17-acre property. It houses 21 bedrooms, 37 bathrooms, racquetball courts, a gym, and a disco / dancing room with stripper poles. Jackson bought the mansion in 2003 for $4.1 million from boxer Mike Tyson, at the time when the rapper had made his first big hit, "Get Rich or Die Tryin." It was originally built by real estate swindler Benjamin Sisti towards the end of the 1980s.

The rapper's first attempt to sell his residence was in 2007, then with a selling price of $18.5 million. The price has since dropped a couple of times within the past five years.

Jackson declared in his bankruptcy filings his monthly income of $184,000, while his expenses reached $108,000 a month. These expenses include the mansion, three more properties, child support, and personal expenses--including grooming and a fleet of vehicles. The rapper is said to own three Chevy Suburbans, a Bentley, and a Rolls-Royce, among others.

Jackson's lawyer, Stephen J. Savva, said that up to this time no deal has been reached yet to lease the home.
