Luxury Hotels: Seven Stars Galleria in Milan Recognized as the World’s ‘Only’ 7-Star Hotel Despite Burj Al Arab in Dubai; Take a Peek

Burj Al Arab in Dubai has been hailed as the only 7-star hotel in the world since it was built, but another hotel in Milan, Italy is claiming the title: Hotel Seven Stars Galleria.

According to Forbes, Seven Stars Galleria is the real and only 7-star hotel in the world, as certified by an authorized body. It states that Burj Al Arab "wasn't actually rated" 7 stars by an official organization.

Forbes recently got a hold of the Milan luxury hotel founder, Alessandro Rosso, who claimed that his hotel was able to accomplish the requirements of 7-star qualification of SGS, a Geneva-based certification company. According to him, the hotel's location and number of suites are just among the factors to consider in a 7-star qualification.

The hotel must be located inside an iconic structure that is of great value to the city. It can't just be a nice building. Furthermore, a seven star hotel must have more suits than rooms. At a five star hotel it's usually the other way around," he clarified.

So what's inside the only 7-star hotel in the world? While Burj Al Arab in Dubai features an extremely modern exterior, Seven Stars Galleria in Milan is housed in a 19th century Vittorio Emanuelle II structure. Located a few steps away from Milan Cathedral, the luxury hotel boasts seven suites, an Italian restaurant, and other luxurious amenities.

The penthouse suite, which is the most luxurious room in the hotel, is where King Vittorio Emmanuelle III would reportedly stay whenever he was in Milan. According to Booking.com, all of the hotel's suites are furnished with air conditioning, free WiFi, wine cellar and butler service for the ultimate luxury experience.

According to Rosso, guests of the hotel will have a personal butler at their beck and call. Guests will also be able to make their own rules in the hotel as opposed to other accommodations with lower classification. Rosso further claimed that the hotel, which opened in 2007, has welcomed celebrities, VIPs, political figures, sultans and more.
