The Pope, Prince Charles, among Declan Donnelly and Wife's Well Wishers

English TV presenter and actor Declan Donnelly, 36, married his manager for the past 10 years, Ali Astall, 36, in a Catholic ceremony held at St. Michael's Church in Elswick, Newcastle last Saturday.

Dec's older brother, Father Dermott Donnelly, officiated the marital union, while Ant McPartlin, Dec's comedy partner, acted as the groom's best man.

A guest described the wedding as brilliant with celebrities like Andi Peters, Alan Shearer, Dermot O'Leary, Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoughby, Paddy McGuinness, Vernon Kay, Tess Daly, Peter Beardsley and Phillip Schofield attending it.

Ant's best man speech was notably hilarious and heartfelt, coupled with pre-recorded messages from Bruce Forsyth, Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin, Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell.

But what really surprised the couple and their guests was a framed certificate from Pope Francis, handed by Fr. Dermott during the church service, and a message from Prince Charles which was read by Ant. Many appreciated the effort of Dec's co-host and buddy who took great efforts in asking people close to the couple to send messages even when they could not attend the affair.

Dec and Ant wore royal blue suits by Tom Baker. Ali, on the other hand, donned a 1950s- inspired gown designed by Phillipa Lepley.

The reception was held in a marquee, adorned with red and white roses, in Belsay, Northumberland. The couple was brought to the place by a Rolls Royce Phantom.

The celebration lasted until 3am with ex- JLS singer Marvin Humes as the DJ.

Although Dec and Ali have maintained a good working relationship and adored each other for a decade, it was only in 2013 when they finally admitted to becoming officially a couple, and coming to terms with being romantically seen in public. He popped the question to Ali last November with a four-carat diamond ring in a traditional platinum band, believed to be worth between £50,000 and £70,000. For their honeymoon, Dec's only wish is to go to a place where the weather will be really nice.
