‘Mission Impossible- Rogue Nation’ Lands 3rd Best U.S. Opening Ever?

"Mission: Impossible- Rouge Nation" only landed the 3rd best U.S. opening ever as it opened over the weekend. Though, the mission impossible 4th film hits the box office with a gross sale of about $56 million, but it fails to beat the previous "Mission: Impossible" movie.

CNN reports that "Mission: Impossible- Rouge Nation" landed as the second-best against "Mission: Impossible II" in 2000 which grossed $57.8 million. Thus, it makes the recent mission impossible film $1.8 Million short from the gross of mission impossible 2. Nonetheless, the latest M.I. movie has also hit internationally. It has earned $65 million abroad, making a total earning of $121 million.

The "Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation" has been Tom Cruise' 3rd best grossing films in the U.S. "Mission: Impossible II" and 2005's "War of the Worlds" are Tom Cruise' top 2 movies. As noted, "Mission: Impossible 2" grossed $57.8 million, while "War of the Worlds" had $64.9 million.

According to the box office analyst for Rentrak (RENT) Paul Dergarabedian that Tom Cruise is not just a movie star, he is at the same time a what-so-called "tireless marketing machine." "He has essentially written the playbook on how to manifest the perfect combination of star-power based publicity along with producer-based business acumen," Dergarabedian said.

Coming Soon Net says that Tom Cruise is now back in the big screen as bigger than ever. Aside from the figures of gross sales stated earlier in this article, "Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation" is reported to have set its motion for its IMAX showing through Paramount previewing at the time "Terminator Genisys" had been shown in IMAX theaters. So, the big push has helped the "M.I- Rogue Nation" grossed $8.4 million in 369 U.S IMAX screens plus another $4.1 million in 135 IMAX theaters abroad.

Variety says that the fifth M.I film has been written and directed by Chris McQuarrie. Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner have reprised their roles from "M.I.: Ghost Protocol."
