‘Downton Abbey' Season 6 News, Spoilers: As The British Drama Heads on Final Season, Will Fans Anticipate A Movie After?

Will we say goodbye to the cast and characters of the BBC and PBS British drama "Downton Abbey" as they set to film the last scenes for their final season, Season 6?

In a press conference of the Television Critics Association held in Beverly Hills last Saturday for the cast and writers of the British drama series "Downton Abbey" Season 6. A lot of questions were asked whether the hit drama will have plans to do a movie or spinoffs as it already reared its last season.

According to TV Line, Executive Producer Gareth Neame said in the presscon that, "There is this speculation about whether we'll make a Downtown movie." He also added that "We might. It's something we've talked about."

He also added that the drama is "a wonderful thing but we don't have a script or a plan as of yet."

So fans will just have to wait for this and anticipate first the airing of the last season of the "Downton Abbey" on PBS.

The cast also shared their feelings for the show's final season, Laura Carmichael said from the article of EW that, "It's strange saying goodbye to the castle."

And "It felt like, for a split second, it wasn't our home anymore - and, of course, it never was our home, but it felt like it. As soon as they said 'cut' on that day, you realized it was just pretend. It was very emotional; we didn't want to leave."

The Golden Globe awardee period drama was first aired in United Kingdom via ITV in 2010 and through PBS in the US in 2011. The "Downton Abbey theme" depicts about the post-Edwardian era and about the lives of the Crawley family and their servants, also covering up some historic happenings on those said eras like UK's general election of 1923, the sinking of Titanic, and the pandemic Spanish Influenza.

"Downton Abbey" casts known English actors like Hugh Richard Bonneville Williams for the role of Robert Crawley, Maggie Smith as Violet Crawley and it also stars Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Jessica Rose Brown-Findlay, Laura Carmichael, and a lot more.

Definitely US fans could not wait to see the final season took off, but we just have to wait until Jan. 3 of 2016 for us to relive and visit the Crawley's.

So don't miss out on this one and as Matthew Crawley said from Season 3, "Well I must take one thing for granted. That I will love you until the last breath leaves my body."

For now, let's leave it as that and watch out for updates in the future.
