"Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2" star Josh Hutcherson has just finished filming a new short film for Canon's Project Imagination named "The Rusted" with Director Ron Howard according to the article of MTV.
The said short film, was based on the chosen Trailer winner from the Canon's Project Imagination, the entry was first known as "Tainted Water" by Mark Mukherjee. It was selected among the thousands who submitted.
Hutcherson said with regards to the short film and working with Howard that, "I've always wanted to direct and produce, it's something I've wanted to get into, and this is the first project that I've taken from the very beginning, the inception of the idea, all the way through to the final product. And it's been really cool. Definitely seeing Ron - who also started out as an actor - make the transition to becoming one of the most well-respected directors, definitely aspires me to go for that even more," According to the article of MTV.
Hutcherson co-starred with fellow "Hunger Games" actor Jena Malone in the short film. "The Rusted" is a psychological thriller that tells the story of siblings trying to renovate their old house to become a recording studio but in the midst of the phase of this renovation, they were able to face past traumas that haunt them.
Regarding the story, Hutcherson said from the article of MTV that "These characters have their own past traumas that are haunting them still." And that "The idea that something that happens in your life that is traumatic can stay with you your whole life to the point where you hallucinate things that aren't really there - that's kind of scary, and I hope that doesn't happen to me."
Hutcherson has really grown up so much now, from that 10-year-old Gabe in "Little Manhattan" to playing Carl Munro in "RV," Sean Anderson in "Journey to the Center of the Earth" to becoming Peeta in "Hunger Games." What would be next after this short film for Hutcherson?
After "Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2" which is set for release in on November 20, 2015. Hutcherson is filming "Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon" which will be released in April 30, 2016.
