Real Estate News: The Sorrentinos of 'Jersey Shore' Fame Just Entered the Real Estate Business in New York

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's shirt-lifting and ab-exposing days are over. According to a report, he has recently entered the real estate business in New York. This piece of news may come off as a surprise to many fans of the MTV reality show "Jersey Shore," from which he became popular.

The Sorrentinos of "Jersey Shore" fame are no strangers to setting up businesses. They previously ran a tanning salon in New Jersey and an entertainment company named MPS Entertainment headed by Marc. However, the businesses reportedly didn't end well as the family failed to pay rent for their tanning salon, while their entertainment business was probed by the federal government for failure to pay taxes. Even though the American-Italian family wasn't able to sustain these, it didn't stop them from venturing into another business.

According to NY Daily News, getting in the New York real estate biz is their next venture. Maximo "Frank" Sorrentino, The Situation's brother, plans to "sell big, multi-million-dollar penthouses." Even though the family has their own respective businesses and gigs, they've somewhat come together to this new joint. "The Situation" has yet to get it with them, as he has yet to take the real estate licensure exam before he could start selling studio apartments in Manhattan.

The family is more than optimistic for the business though, and they believe that they're off to a great start. However, many are skeptical on how they're going to fare in the competitive business of real estate. After all, being a reality TV star is completely different from being a real estate broker.

The feisty family were stars of the now defunct reality show called "The Sorrentinos," which was cancelled shortly after. According to NJ.com, Mike and Marc are still up for trial for tax fraud in the fall.
