'The Mindy Project' Season 4 Spoilers: Mindy Lahiri To Wed 'The Big Bang Theory' Character Star Kunal Nayyar?

The upcoming fourth season of "The Mindy Project" will introduce a new character that will be played by "The Big Bang Theory" star Kunal Nayyar. According to TV Line, Nayyar has been tapped to guest star on the show as Mindy Lahiri's (Mindy Kaling) newest love interest, Sendhil. The publication noted that Sendhil is a successful hedge fund manager that Mindy's parents like for their daughter.

Nayyar's inclusion into the series could mean trouble for Mindy and her fiancé Danny Castellano (Chris Messina). In Season 3, it was revealed that Mindy is pregnant and Danny is the father. With this, Danny decided to reach out to Mindy's parents to ask for their daughter's hand in marriage.

In Season 3's finale episode, Danny was featured standing outside the Lahiri's front door. Unfortunately, fans thought that they will no longer know what will transpire between Danny and Mindy's parents after "The Mindy Project" was cancelled by Fox. Luckily, it was picked up by Hulu for another season.

Meanwhile, throughout the past three seasons, fans of "The Mindy Project" have not set their sights on Mindy's parents. Just recently, the character's mom and dad have officially been cast.

According to E! News, Mindy's father will be played by "Royal Pains" actor Ajay Mehta and her mother will be played by "House of Cards" actress Sakina Jaffrey. The upcoming season will also be star-studded as it was previously confirmed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Brooke Burke, Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass and more will appear on the show.

In other news, Kaling recently confirmed that filming for Season 4 has already commenced. On her Twitter account, the funny woman posted a photo of a sheet paper where the names of the cast members could be read. She captioned the photo, "First day back with these rascals! #themindyproject."

"The Mindy Project" Season 4 will premiere on Hulu sometime this year.
