Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster Will Follow Coupe Version

The Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster seems to be on course for launch as an undisguised prototype of the car that has been spied on roads.

According to Auto Express, sports car fans can expect the Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce to follow the coupe version as announced by Lamborghini last month.

A seven-speed automated manual transmission and standard all-wheel drive mean that the SV coupe can complete the 0-62 mph dash in 2.8 seconds and record a top speed of over 217mph.

Meanwhile, Winkelmann has already confirmed that the Urus SUV will be released in production form by 2018. The car will also be identical to the original concept design.

In a report by Auto Express, Winkelmann released a statement about the final car saying, "For an SUV, it's less important to go for pure sports car power." He added, "So a hybrid could appear in the Urus. Whatever the plan, we have expanded our factory in Sant'Agata to give us double the manufacturing capacity for our new models."

In another report by World Car Fans, the roadster will be around 48 kilograms heavier than its coupe sibling. However, car fans are not to worry as reports indicate that its performance will be identical.

The main difference is the top of the car now has a removable carbon roof which is believed to weigh only 5.8 kg. The Aventador SV coupe also has a more powerful 750 PS (552kW) and 690 Nm (507 lb-ft) version of the company's 6.5-litre V12.

Lamborghini is planning to sell just 600 units of the Aventador SV coupes. It will obviously command a premium over its fixed roof sibling that was priced for a whopping €327,190 in Europe and $493,069 in the United States. According to World Car Fans, it is also expected that Lamborghini will sell all of its copies in just three months, despite the exorbitant price tag.

Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster is expected to debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. An online reveal is also likely in late August, or even sooner.
